THE NEW ENGLAND FUEL INSTITUTE IS NOW OFFERING:
BIODIESEL PUMP LABELS!!!
REQUIRED UNDER LAW

WHAT THEY ARE: Biodiesel pump labels are placed on your fuel dispenser (similar to the octane labels you see at the gas station). They state the presence and/or volume of biomass in the diesel gasoline as required by the Federal Trade Commission.
DIMENSIONS AND MATERIAL: The labels are 3”x2.5” and meet FTC regulations. They have a coating to protect them from the elements.
DIFFERENT TYPES OF LABELS: Essentially,
you have two choices of labels for your dispensers: Those that state the
CONTENT ONLY and those that state CONTENT
AND SPECIFIC VOLUME. The choice
is yours; you only need to have an approved label. For example, “BIODIESEL
BLEND” would indicate a blend of 5%-20%. Alternately, “B-5” would
indicate a blend of 5%. Either label would suffice. The question is: Do
you want to show only content or content and volume?
PENALTIES: The Federal Trade Commission can sue violators
of the Federal Rating Rule (biodiesel labels) in Federal Court. The court
can impose civil penalties of up to $10,000 per violation!!!
PLACEMENT: The label or labels must be placed conspicuously on the dispenser face in full view of consumers and as near to the price per unit as is reasonably practical.
*The FTC only requires labels for blends over 5%. Technically, B-5 is not necessary, however, it is strongly recommended that you label your dispenser.
